Position/Job: Flower shop clerk/ look-out

Sexuality: bisexual, but he doesn't openly show it.

Personality: He's your picture perfect example of a good kid forced into a hard life. For the most part, the morals he'd absorbed as a child and young teen have stuck with him--be kind and respectful to women, children, and elderly, earn your money honorably, stealing and cheating are bad, life lessons like that. He has a strong dislike for the crimelords that run this city, but he has a particular dislike for the Beluccis for personal reasons. In his happier days, he'd been a rather rambunctious and energetic child, but he was as sweet as you could get once you got passed his cocky attitude. However, since becoming an orphan, he's become a more jaded and much much more of a foul mouthed version of himself with an increased taste for dabbling into things he really shouldn't be. He's become a skilled liar and actor when the need arises, and he's quite the skilled thief and pickpocket, but he still is unable to hide his stronger emotions once they are made to surface on occasion.

Background: Jeremy is the youngest in a large family of seven brothers and his two parents. His father, he doesn't remember anymore because Papa Phillips was shot down in the streets by members of Belucci's circle for unknown reasons while he was still just a toddler. His mother was the one who raised him, and he was almost like an only child from age 7 to 12 after his older brothers left the nest to spread their wings in other states and cities far away from this crime-ridden hell hole. During this time with just the two of them, Jeremy had seen a good number of men flit in and out of his mother's room, but he was always left in the dark since none of these men really ever stayed for more than a few days. At age 12, his mother fell deathly ill passed away two months before Jeremy's thirteenth birthday. Refusing to be taken to an orphanage, he fled after his mother's funeral and wandered the streets as a homeless street rat for a few months.

Before coming to live with Pat in their place above the flower shop, Jeremy had attempted to steal the lock box from the man when he saw that the shop was empty. Of course since this was no ordinary flower shop, he was caught by Pat and was questioned (along with a little heart to heart about his past) before being offered a job and a place to stay when he needed in lieu of coming in to try and steal. At first, Jeremy refused to go back, but it wasn't long before he hit a bit of a dry spell with his pickpocketing and was forced to rely on Pat's offer for a place for the night. When he and Pat grew a bit closer, he was offered a job to work purely as a flower shop clerk, but once Pat realized that Jeremy was smarter than he let on, he also was given the job of being the look-out for when Pat was downstairs maintaining the bar. Since then, it had been Uncle Patty and him in that shop up until two years later when a certain French spy came into the picture.

Rémy Artois wasn't a name that one knew unless you were high up and within the good graces of the city's crime lords. He was a spy that worked for both sides, and had a considerable amount of enemies that merely knew the man's face, but more often than not, were completely in the dark about how wide this man's network of connections spans and who this snake of a man was close to. That's why, on one of the off nights where Rémy had been caught, the man had stumbled quite literally with a bullet in his shoulder and a few nasty gashes onto Jeremy's doorstep while the boy was taking out the trash to the back alley from the flower shop. He wasn't in any life-threatening danger at that moment, but it could have been if he didn't get some immediate medical attention, which he received from a rather reluctant fourteen-year-old Jeremy. Nothing out of the ordinary came out of this encounter, but unfortunately for Jeremy, the men pursuing Rémy had seen this and decided to stick around for a little while longer...

Jeremy and Rémy's second encounter went much more smoothly as the man was no longer bleeding all over the flower shop floor when waltzed went in. Of course there was the "WHY THE HELL ARE YOU HERE AGAIN" from Jeremy, but the boy had to let the Frenchman into the bar and treat him more like a customer once the code words had been said. Unlike their first meeting, the two of them didn't talk much, but Rémy seemed to grow a bit more fond of his "petit saviour" when he saw the good-boy front the young teen put on while conversing with a couple elderly women who had wandered in to partake in the store's more innocent commodities. They talked, or more accurately Rémy talked while Jeremy got flustered and annoyed, for a little while more before the spy finally decided to take his leave. The next day was Jeremy's day off, so he slept quite well after his little chat with Uncle Patty.

For an enemy whom you know nothing about except for his face, you tend to pay closer attention not to his movements, but to the people they come into contact with, especially if it happens more than once. And Jeremy Antony Phillips, orphan, age 14, relation to the enemy spy: unknown, but worth extra surveillance, had come into contact with this elusive man twice. That was all this mysterious group needed to snatch the boy off the streets when he was out and about, and away from the safety and protection of Uncle Pat's flower shop.

Anything else you want to add: Still in the works for the remaining part of Jer's history, but the rough outline for what happens next is that Rémy comes to Jer's rescue, and takes the boy in as his adoptive son for his own protection on top of his growing fondness for the foul-mouthed orphan. Pat and Rémy seem to bicker a lot about it, but both have some pretty damn solid points. Rémy has a fuck ton of deadly and dangerous enemies after his neck, but Pat isn't much better with his illegal trading of booze, guns, and everything else beneath his shop. Due to the target that floated so closely to Jeremy's head, he's safer when staying in hiding with Rémy, but even a skilled mercenary like him couldn't stop the boy in his determination to continue working at the flower shop and hanging around his favorite Uncle Patty.
